An exciting book examining family therapy from a range of approaches. An essential text for family and couple therapists to expand their knowledge of althernative approaches to family work. Having thought two classes the Family Systemic Counselling Theroy and Skills module this year I would recommend that this book be added to the core text book list in our bibliography for this module. This book covers most of the topics in the narratives for this module and it would be of great benifit to our students. -- Mrs Gisela Oates * drupal *
This is a helpful book for those interested in family therapy as it considers the links between family therapy and a range of theoretical concepts as well as the development of family therapy as an intervention. -- Mrs Imelda Hatton-Yeo * drupal *
This text is an overall introduction to theory as well as a source of practical ideas for working with children, young people and familial relationships.

Those familiar with the Geldards’ clear, accessible writing style will not be disappointed.
-- Ms Janie Dickson * drupal *
Very good text for graduate class. Comprehensive for those students who are looking to understand the vocabulary, models and the needs of families and children in particular. This is a good introductory course text. As an instructor, I enjoy having discussion questions in the book to refer to in class and to assign for extra credit assignment. I am using a companion book because the focus of this class is counseling addictive families. -- Professor Jane Nichols * drupal *
Excellent text. Will be considered for next cohort in 2012. -- Professor Ron Thiessen * drupal *
