Venkatesh Chaturvedi attained his M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry in 2004, and Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology in 2011, from, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Dr. Chaturvedi has more than twelve years of teaching experience in government/ private teaching institutions. Dr. Chaturvedi is currently working as Assistant Professor at School of Biotechnology, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University since 2019. Dr. Chaturvedi is a Group leader of Bioremediation and Environmental Biotechnology laboratory at School of Biotechnology, Banaras Hindu University. His area of expertise involves Environmental Biotechnology, Bioremediation, and Industrial Biotechnology. He has undertaken one extramural research grant in the area of bioremediation. Dr. Chaturvedi has published more than 40 research/review articles in renowned scientific journals such as International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, International Biodeterioration and Biodegradation, Process Biochemistry, World Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Fuel Processing Technology, and Frontiers in Microbiology etc. He is a member of various national and international societies/academies. Dr. Chaturvedi has also published around 10 book chapters in books published by national/international publishers. Dr. Chaturvedi has also served as reviewers for many journals from different publishers.
Pradeep Verma completed his PhD from Sardar Patel University Gujarat, India in 2002. In the same year, he was selected as a UNESCO fellow and joined the Czech Academy of Sciences Prague, Czech Republic. He later moved to Charles University, Prague to work as postdoctoral fellow. In 2004 he worked as a visiting scientist at UFZ Centre for Environmental Research, Halle, Germany. He was awarded a DFG fellowship that provided him with another opportunity to work as a postdoctoral fellow at Gottingen University, Germany. Later in 2007 he returned to India and joined Reliance Life Sciences, Mumbai, and worked extensively on biobutanol production, which attributed a few patents to his name. Later he was awarded JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme and joined the laboratory of Biomass Conversion, Research Institute of Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH), Kyoto University, Japan. Professor Verma has also been the recipient of various prestigious awards, such as the Ron Cockcroft award by the Swedish society, and UNESCO Fellow ASCR Prague. Recently for his contribution to the area of fungal microbiology, industrial biotechnology, and environmental bioremediations, he has been awarded the prestigious Fellow Award from the International Academy of Sciences (IAWS), 2024, Association of Fungal Biologist (AFB), 2024, National Academy of Biological Sciences, (NABS) 2023, Mycological Society of India (2020), P.C. Jain Memorial Award (MSI), and Biotech Research Society of India (2021). In 2020, he was also awarded Fellow of the Biotechnology Research Society of India (BRSI) and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of AMI India 2021 (FAMSc). Furthermore, he has also been awarded the JSPS Bridge Fellow award in 2022 and a short-term visit to Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan, to strengthen ties between the two laboratories. He is currently working as a professor at the Department of Microbiology, CURAJ (Central University of Rajasthan). His area of expertise involves microbial diversity, bioremediation, bioprocess development, lignocellulosic, and algal biomass-based biorefinery. He holds several international patents in the field of microwave-assisted biomass pretreatment and biobutanol production. He has more than 106 research articles in peer-reviewed international journals and has contributed to 66 published book chapters in different edited books. He has also edited 26 books for various international publishers. He is a guest editor for several journals such as Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, Agriculture, Frontier in Nanotechnology, and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. He is also an editorial board member for the Journal of Current Nanomedicine and an acting reviewer for more than 70 journals of different publishers.
Maulin P. Shah is an active researcher and scientific writer in his field for over 20 years. He earned a B.Sc. degree (1999) in Microbiology from Gujarat University, Godhra (Gujarat), India. He also earned his Ph.D. degree (2005) in Environmental Microbiology from Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar (Gujarat), India. He is Chief Scientist & Head of the Industrial Wastewater Research Lab, Division of Applied and Environmental Microbiology Lab at Enviro Technology Ltd., Ankleshwar, Gujarat, India. His work focuses on the impact of industrial pollution on the microbial diversity of wastewater and genetically engineering high-impact microbes for the degradation of hazardous materials. His research interests include Biological Wastewater Treatment, Environmental Microbiology, Biodegradation, Bioremediation, & Phytoremediation of Environmental Pollutants from Industrial Wastewaters. Majority of his work focusses on isolation, screening, identification and Genetic Engineering of high-impact Microbes for the degradation of hazardous materials. He has published more than 250 research papers in national and international journals of repute on various aspects of microbial biodegradation and bioremediation of environmental pollutants. He is the editor of more than 50 books of international repute and is an active editorial board member in top-rated journals.
